Privacy Policy

Short version: ChargeLock does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All Screen Time data, usage statistics, and focus history remain exclusively on your iPhone. We have no access to it — and we want it that way.

1. Who We Are

ChargeLock is an iOS productivity application developed and operated by ChargeLock Team. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not do:

We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information
We do not see which apps you block or use
We do not read the content of your messages, browsing history, or files
We do not upload your Screen Time data to any server
We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties
We do not use advertising SDKs or analytics trackers
We do not track your location

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

ChargeLock stores the following data only on your iPhone, using Apple’s secure local storage:

Focus session history — start/end times, session duration, trigger type (charging / battery / manual)
Challenge statistics — number of challenges solved or skipped per session
App settings & preferences — your chosen trigger settings, challenge difficulty, notification preferences
Screen Time usage summaries — aggregated daily usage totals per app, used only to generate your in-app insights
Streak and achievement data — your focus streak counter and unlocked badges

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.

4. Apple Frameworks We Use

ChargeLock uses the following Apple-provided frameworks, all of which operate under Apple’s own privacy policies:

FamilyControls (Screen Time API) — allows ChargeLock to block selected apps. Requires explicit user permission. Apple manages this permission; we never see which specific apps you block.
ManagedSettings — applies the blocking restrictions. All operations are local, on-device.
DeviceActivity — reads aggregated app usage data for your in-app analytics. This data is processed locally and is never transmitted.
UserNotifications — sends local notifications (charging alerts, session reminders). No notification data is collected or stored.
StoreKit 2 — processes in-app subscription purchases. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple; we receive only a confirmation of purchase status.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

ChargeLock offers an optional Pro subscription. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, process, or store any payment card information. Subscription status (active / expired) is verified through Apple’s StoreKit — no personal financial data reaches us.

To manage or cancel your subscription, go to iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

6. Children’s Privacy

ChargeLock is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has used this app, please contact us at support@chargelock.app and we will take appropriate action.

7. Data Security

Because all data is stored locally on your device, the security of that data is protected by iOS’s built-in encryption and your device’s passcode or Face ID / Touch ID. We have no ability to access, breach, or recover your data — because we never receive it.

8. Your Rights

Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on our end. All data stored locally by ChargeLock can be removed by:

Using the “Clear All Data” option in ChargeLock Settings → Data & Privacy
Deleting the ChargeLock app from your iPhone

Both actions permanently remove all locally stored data.

9. Third-Party Services

ChargeLock does not integrate with any third-party analytics platforms (such as Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.), advertising networks, or social media SDKs. The app has no external network calls beyond Apple’s own services (StoreKit for subscriptions).

10. Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and notify users via an in-app message on next launch. Continued use of ChargeLock after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We will never make changes that reduce your privacy protections without clear notice.
